The entrance, washing and drying facilities were especially useful given the weather. We would recommend this house to our friends. Comfortable and very high standard of accommodation, weather allowed. Some lovely views from the top floor. A good rest, peaceful and relaxing.

Well, what can we say! - Eva’s 60th birthday and what a marvellous property to celebrate. Eva did not know that Phil was arriving from Australia with his sister Carrie. The house had everything we needed. Space, superbly equipped rooms - super efficient central heating and a log fire (we brought loads!). The kitchen had all we needed to ensure that the cuisine was up to scratch. It was the coldest winter most of us can remember and the walk across Derwent Water to the centre island was “memories are made of this!” Congratulations to the owners of The Mill Race and Cumbrian Cottages for one of our holidays to remember for a life time. Best wishes for 2010.
